Who you can message
You can start a conversation with people you already work or talk with, members of your organisations, and marketplace members who allow messages from the platform. People can turn off contact from others in their settings.
Gigvora limits how many new conversations you can start in a short time, to prevent spam.
Groups
Groups can have up to 50 people. Whoever creates a group is its owner and can make others admins. Organisation groups can only include members of that organisation.
By default, people added to a group later see messages from the point they joined, not earlier history.
Editing and removing
- You can edit your own text messages for 15 minutes after sending. Edited messages are marked as edited.
- You can remove your own messages. The conversation shows that a message was removed, so the order stays clear.
Files
Files you attach are stored privately. Other people can open a file only after it has passed a security scan. File scanning isn't available yet, so for now attachments are visible only to the person who uploaded them.
